Colours and how they effect our lives

I have been looking at colours, their meanings and their purpose in our lives. Red is my favourite colour, does that have any influence on my life, it is said to be a powerful colour the most powerful colour of all. Does that make me a passionate person......ask my husband, or dangerous.....?

I have been looking at Helga Steppan, her colour installations are sooo inspiring, she collates her belongings together in colour blocks.

I am going to try and do something similar!

Another challenge begins.....

My own Hong Hao inspired piece

Each picture was arranged on a 12 x 12 sheet of card.

I then cropped around the picture and collated them all together to create the last picture.

I am quite pleased with the final outcome but will need to remember to shot accurately the card as I had to crop out some of the detail.

Personal Possessions

I have been a bit lazy and forgotten to blog....
I had a few interesting outcomes to Outward Appearances, now the real assignment begins...Personal Possessions.

Hong Hao

So I have been around the house taking random shots of nicks nacks in the rooms and have been looking at my critical studies. The first study has been Hong Hao. I really find his work captivating, I am drawn to the way he displays his collections of possessions and I am going to try and recreate this with some of my own possessions!

Inspirations

I have been looking at the art of other photographers and have been very inspired by quite a few, especially Cindy Sherman. I love the way she shows her feminism in her pictures, especially the creations where she has taken the Disney character Cinderella and completely created the opposite look,Cinderella is normally portrayed as an innocent, pristine princess and the shot Cindy Sherman has created shows a Cinderella looking scruffy, with a see through dress on, I will try and upload the picture! I think I may challenge myself with this kind of photography but choosing the right Disney character is going to be difficult!

I will be looking into some more photographers!

A- Level Photography

I am starting an A - Level at the ripe old age of 35!
I love photography and have my own photography business but would love to sharpen my knowledge, so that's what the course is for....

A challenge no less... I like!
